Michaela has lived
all over the world and travelled it extensively but feels most ‘at home’ in
Asia, having lived and worked in Hong Kong for over 30 years.
An enthusiastic,
versatile professional, Michaela has a wealth of practical experience in
hospitality sales and marketing through previous employment with international
hotels; gourmet food; catering equipment suppliers; and a food-service consultancy
– in both the U.K. and Hong Kong. It
was at this time she met Karl.
Previous experience
in Vietnam includes her strategic involvement in a pioneering project
development and "In-Country” training of Vietnamese Science Operatives in the
manufacture and application of hydroponic kits and nutrients. This project was launched on national
television, from Hanoi. Such was her
interest in this field she subsequently formed her own company ‘Eco-Hopes’
introducing hydroponic herb kits to a niche market in Hong Kong, before
‘growing’ her own family took over!
Michaela is a member
of Institute of Hospitality (I.O.H.), and has built upon her H.C.I.M.A. (member
since 1990) professional qualifications, by achieving a First Class BSc (HONS)
International Hospitality and Tourism Management, graduating from Sheffield
Hallam University.
